SEEKING YOUR Story

Driven by A Passion TO Share Your Best

A lifelong military aviation enthusiast, I (Todd Miller) graduated to the school of journalism in 2013. Unable to pursue a personal dream of a career in military aviation, I turned to chasing aircraft with a camera and pen.  Since 2013 scores of stories prepared under the original brand “FlyFastandLow” have received global exposure and recognition by a variety of print outlets.  That is satisfying and fantastic for the story – however the rewards below are the ones I’ll remember;

  • A USMC Colonel quoted coverage in a pre-deployment letter sent to the families of his unit.
  • The F-35 pilots that passionatley opened up to share their personal insights about the aircraft when asked “the best question.”
  • The team of professionals involved in a new aircraft system that stated – “that’s the best description of our platform we’ve seen to date – you get it.”
  • Watching a service members story go global, associates and family expressing  pride in what they do.
  • Fulfilling requests of the participating pilots/flight crews for hi-res copies of the photos.

MilAvMedia strives to reveal what it takes to serve and prevail as an military aviator. With OPSEC in mind, MilAvMedia explores the development of the warfighter, platform and mission for the 21st century battlespace – information domination.  This is the cutting edge world of military service, and behind the ultimate deterrence provided by a military force. We prescribe to the thinking; The supreme art of war is to subdue the enemy without fighting  – Sun Tzu. However, the world needs to know that if it comes to it, no forces are better prepared.

I have learned to approach each experience with an open mind, the story is not what I anticipate. Something richer awaits.

Extraordinary results require extraordinary efforts

EXPERIENCE

  • USAF Egress & Ejection Training 2017
  • Live Fire Exposure
  • Experience in Fighters, Helicopters, Transports, Tankers and more.
  • Day/Night Operations
  • Operations on “Restricted” Ranges
  • Serve aviation components of all branches

Commitment

  • Physical contortions in small spaces. Yes, onlookers have laughed!
  • Hours of preparatory training & travel. If it was easy….
  • Exhausting days under load in heat and dirt. This just means we’re in the thick of it!
  • Waiting out weather for mission go ahead. What we cannot control (weather, equipment, change in plans) we let go.
  • Climbing a mountain for that “one” shot that captures it all. Gold must be mined!

CONDUCT

OPSEC can’t rely on hope.  It takes conduct, commitment and accountability to respect and maintain OPSEC.  A history of access to the story from the inside out speaks for itself. Operational details that reveal TTPs or sensitive mission details are carefully and voluntarily avoided. All media (print, photo, video) is available for review prior to publishing, and subject to OPSEC parameters.

I has received access to some of the most unique military operations;

  • Fly along and Flying the most current, capable platforms
  • Restricted Ranges
  • Live Fire Ranges
  • Live Training Missions
  • Simulators
  • Aircraft Carriers (CVN/LHA)
  • Day and Night operations of exotic platforms
  • Testing operations of the newest platforms
